RSPCA Queensland Ambassador

FOR ALL CREATURES GREAT & SMALL

I’m honoured to be an RSPCA QLD Ambassador!   As a volunteer and fundraiser for RSPCA for many years in Melbourne & The Whitsundays, I’m excited to now be assisting my favourite organisation by hosting some of their Queensland events as MC, helping raise awareness about the importance of adoption and of course visiting their Adoption Centres regularly to get to know & promote the animals in need of their “furever” homes.

My first visit to the Wacol Centre in Brisbane was an emotional day for me!  I was blown away by the size of the centre & the amazing staff & volunteers attending to all the animals.  Meeting and playing with some of the animals waiting for adoption was both heart-warming & heart-breaking. They were all certainly very well looked-after, comfortable & well-loved & generally happy in there, but you couldn’t mistake the sadness in the eyes of these beautiful creatures that had either been abandoned, lost or rescued.  That longing for a wonderful human-friend to take them home & shower them with unconditional love, like they give to us so effortlessly.

The RSPCA Qld (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is the state’s oldest, largest and leading animal welfare charity, dedicated to improving the lives of all domestic, farmed and native animals throughout Queensland.  They care for displaced domestic pets as well as native wildlife patients at their Brisbane RSPCA Wildlife Hospital. With over 50,000 animals needing assistance from the RSPCA each year, RSPCA Qld requires $48 million annually to support their animal centres, programs and services, and receives less than 3% of funding from the government to do so. They rely on donations, bequests & sponsorships from every day people like you & I to make up the rest.

I’ll be helping spread the word about upcoming fundraising events & drives in QLD, as well as sharing stories & profiles of the animals in care that are in need of adoption, so please join me in support of the RSPCA & find out how you can make a difference here
